What candidates would approve/reject Fanita Ranch development?

Only one candidate (Laura) would not reveal a position on the Fanita project. This is despite the fact that the Fanita Ranch has been the major land use issue in Santee for the past 25 years and the subject of referendum election, two court decisions and two city council votes.

Q: “Do you support the HomeFed Fanita Ranch proposal for 2,950 homes? Why or why not?”

District 1:

“I do oppose the Fanita Ranch project”

Evlyn Andrade-Heymsfield

———————————-

“I was a big proponent of the previous Fanita Ranch…I’m not a fan of it…but we do need growth. We do need smart development…the brush out there is way more dangerous to us as it stands right now…”

Rob McNelis

District 2:

“I’m the worst injured from the Cedar Fire. I’m the living example of why things like this should not move forward.”

Rudy Reyes

————–

“They haven’t impressed me with what they have shown so far…for people that actually deal with fire it’s not in the right area…”

Ronn Hall

————-

District 3:

“No”

Zack Gianino

—————-

“I’ve been against Fanita Ranch for 30 years…why do we want to put our fire department at risk…we don’t need Fanita Ranch…

Lynda Marrokal

——————–

I’ll wait and let it work through the system.”
